‘Moon Gabi’s Ex-Boyfriend’ Jimmy Paige Disses Jung Woo-sung? “Go Embrace Refugees”
On January 3, Jimmy Paige addressed allegations that he targeted Jung Woo-sung, the biological father of Moon Ga-bi’s son. He explained, “It was a joke, just one line. I will clarify it now.” He added, “Contrary to the dramatic expectations of gossipmongers, I did not write it in support of anyone. It was written in the spirit of political satire.”
When asked if he was in a position to comment, he replied, “In this equal world where anyone can type, I too have the right to do so.” He further clarified, “I am not someone who projects my past onto others, and the lyrics were just one of my many jokes, nothing more.”
The controversy began after Jimmy Paige’s single “Yellow Niki Lauda,” released on December 31, caused a stir. Among the lyrics, the line “Spew my baby on your face with fury. I never show mercy. You go and embrace refugees” drew attention for seemingly referencing Jung Woo-sung. Netizens have speculated, commenting, “‘Embrace refugees’ reminds me of someone“, “Is this a diss track against Jung Woo-sung?” and “The man who dares diss Jung Woo-sung.“
Debuting as a model in 2010, Park Sung-jin joined Just Music as a rapper in April 2017. He adopted the stage name Jimmy Paige in 2020 and, after his contract with Just Music ended in 2024, established “The Nice Music Group”.
Park Sung-jin is also known for his public relationship with Moon Ga-bi. The couple gained popularity for their stylish posts on Instagram, amassing a significant fanbase, but they broke up in 2017 after three years of dating. Later, Moon Ga-bi was rumored to be in a relationship with French model and DJ Willy Monfret.
In November last year, Moon Ga-bi unexpectedly announced the birth of her child. Soon after, it was revealed that Jung Woo-sung was the child’s biological father. Jung Woo-sung’s side stated, “Discussions are ongoing to determine the best approach for the child’s upbringing, and as a father, Jung Woo-sung will take full responsibility for the child.“
However, Jung Woo-sung faced controversy when it came to light that he had a long-term non-celebrity girlfriend while also allegedly sending messages to other women through DMs. These revelations drew criticism, with some pointing out contradictions in his actions, as he has been an advocate for single mothers and refugee acceptance. Netizens remarked, “He accepts refugees but is selective about accepting his own child.”
On December 28, Moon Ga-bi addressed her relationship with Jung Woo-sung, “After meeting at a gathering in 2022, we got to know each other better and maintained a good relationship through the end of 2023. Since one day in January 2024, I have not had any face-to-face contact with the person who is the father of my child. I have never demanded marriage or anything else from him due to the pregnancy. I did my best in our relationship, and the decision to welcome this child, who came to us as an overwhelming gift in a natural and healthy connection, was made by both parents.”
Since attending the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards last November, Jung Woo-sung has remained out of the public eye. Amid this, attention has turned to whether Jimmy Paige’s song is indeed a diss track aimed at him.
